Whether solar is set up to back-feed into a breaker at the main panel or a subpanel, it is very important that the solar sensors are monitoring the isolated incoming solar production.
In this setup, the solar sensors have been placed on the subpanel lines. Because of this, the solar sensors will be tracking the solar production minus any live circuits in that subpanel.
This is not an ideal experience, as the solar readings will be inaccurate for the user. Also, any devices in this subpanel will not be detected by Sense because they are being grouped in as ‘Solar.’
Instead, the installation should be adjusted to look like the illustration below:
